MEGOGO is an international media service with its heart in Kyiv. Since 2011, we’ve been building a content ecosystem. We work with leading film distributors and the world’s biggest studios: HBO, Universal, BBC, Walt Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount Pictures, and others. We exclusively broadcast UEFA Champions League matches, other European competitions, and top-tier sports events. We also develop digital products, online video, subscriptions, gift cards, and OTT solutions. Today, MEGOGO is a team of 800+ professionals.
In Kazakhstan, we are strengthening our local presence and opening a new role — Content Acquisition Manager, who will be responsible for acquiring and developing local VOD/TV content for the MEGOGO platform in Kazakhstan.
The challenge of this role is to acquire content strategically — aligned with audience needs and product economics: monitor the market, generate ideas, negotiate the best terms, and bring content to the platform end-to-end.
Your responsibilities:
Acquiring rights to broadcast TV channels and video content for OTT services
Focusing on VOD in Kazakhstan: monitoring the market and identifying opportunities to attract new partners and new content
Developing relationships with existing partners
Negotiating content terms and pricing with rights holders
Drafting, signing, and managing contracts
Managing the end-to-end process “from first contact to content live on the platform”: coordination with legal, finance, accounting, technical teams, and the content team
Building/updating channel packages (TV direction)
Collecting and preparing analytics/business cases for acquisitions, presenting proposals internally
Sourcing and supervising external teams for video and audio content production
Attending industry events (film, TV) and expanding your professional network
Monitoring current market prices
What we expect from you:
1+ year of relevant experience in one of the following areas: film/TV, distribution/exhibition, content sales, content acquisition, working at TV channels, or with production centers
Strong negotiation skills and a business mindset: commercial thinking, deal math, contract management
An existing network in the local market (distributors, producers, channels) will be a strong advantage
Readiness to work in a fast-paced environment
Languages:
Kazakh — desirable (at least spoken)
English — Upper-Intermediate
