Job title: Project Expert
Number of hours: 40
Contract Period: 1 year (with possibility of extension after positive job evaluation)
SPECIFIC INFORMATION AND DUTIES
Project Expert is responsible for the following components:
Project Planning & Execution: Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines with stakeholders; Lead full project lifecycle: planning, execution, monitoring, reporting and closure; Collaborate with funding partners and institutions on work plans and milestones.
Team & Contract Management: Lead and support project teams; Assign tasks, provide internal briefings, and oversee compliance with contracts.
Risk & Quality Management: Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and verify implementation; Conduct on-site checks and liaise with beneficiary countries.
Budget Oversight: Monitor expenditures and ensure adherence to budgets; Coordinate with financial officers to prevent overruns.
Supplemental Activities: Support workshops and training sessions, ensure appropriate ISTC and funding partner visibility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or scientific/technical field.
5+ years project management experience; international organization experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies; ability to lead complex international projects.
Ability to work/coordinate with diverse groups of experts, diplomatically and culturally sensitive.
Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Fluency in English; additional languages an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred: PMP/PRINCE2/Agile certification; experience in CBRN-related projects
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The ISTC HQ is located in Astana and has branch offices in Armenia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Work may also include traveling outside of the above regions including Southeast Asia.
The ISTC brings a wide variety of activities, which require a high degree of flexibility but also provides an interesting challenge.
