Juru is seeking a mid-level/senior Environmental & Social (E&S) Consultant to support the implementation and coordination of environmental and social components of projects in Kazakhstan.

Working as part of the Environmental & Social Team within the Sustainability Business Unit, the E&S Consultant will be responsible for project coordination, data collection and analysis, expert coordination, stakeholder engagement, and preparation of environmental and social documentation, including ESIA, national EIA (OVOS), and related reports, to ensure compliance with local and international requirements and effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the projects, report the status;
• Report to Environmental and Social team heads regarding operational and financial status of projects;
• Coordinate the associated experts, i.e., prepare agreements, follow up on tasks, prepare invoices, etc;
• Collect secondary data and assist in developing ESIA, national EIA reports (OVOS), LRP reports etc;
• Assist in conducting consultations with relevant stakeholders for ongoing/planned projects via calls and official correspondence;
• Provide guidance and interpretation of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to environmental/social and management for experts;
• Arrange and conduct E&S baseline studies;
• Assist in report writing, reviewing and formatting as necessary;
• Communicate with Clients and local Juru team through online and offline meetings;
• Stay up to date with local and international environmental and social regulations;
• Assist with ad-hoc duties of the Environmental & Social teams, as required.
• Assist in implementation of ongoing projects within the Business Unit;
• Assist in arranging site visits for performing social surveys and assist in conducting surveys and interviews;
• Prepare summary reports on the key findings and results of conducted activities/surveys under supervision;
• GIS-mapping;

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, ecology, irrigation, or environmental engineering/science;
• 2-4 years of professional experience in environmental/social consulting;
• Prior experience on ESIA projects is an asset;
• Working knowledge of GIS software data collection tools;
• Strong communication skills in English and Russian (both written and verbal), Kazakh is an asset;
• Highly organized, diligent and self-motivated;
• Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple priorities;
• Ability to withstand high pressure and deliver results;
• Ability to communicate in a clear manner.
