We're currently seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Financial Risk Management Group in Astana/Almaty, who is eager to expand their expertise in credit risk and risk management. In this role, you’ll assess and develop risk methodologies, review capital adequacy frameworks, and implement IFRS standards for leading financial institutions.

As our Senior Consultant you will:

  • Develop and validate credit risk models (ECL, PD, LGD, EAD, FLI, rating and scoring models)

  • Prepare methodological documentation and analytical/validation reports

  • Perform credit risk audits, evaluate controls, and ensure regulatory compliance (Basel, IFRS 9)

  • Lead projects in credit risk assessment and management, coordinating teams and resolving methodological issues

  • Analyze large datasets, build econometric/statistical models, and identify strategic insights

  • Assess and develop risk strategies, frameworks, and policies, including ALM, FTP, and liquidity risk methodologies

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships

You’re the perfect match for this role if you:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Physics, or a related quantitative field

  • Have hands-on experience in credit risk model development, validation, or application

  • Have a background in banking, internal audit, risk management, or consulting

  • Are proficient in Python, Excel (with VBA), and ideally in R; SQL knowledge is a plus

  • Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills

  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Have a solid working knowledge of English (Upper-Intermediate or higher)

  • Are ready for client-facing projects and business trips

  • Bonus: FRM, CFA, ACCA certifications and experience with ML/statistical models
