Who will you be working with?
You will be working with the Sourcing team at LKZ plant, supporting locomotive production by ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials. The team collaborates closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain a seamless supply chain and uphold Wabtec’s standards in quality, delivery, and compliance.
How will you make a difference?
As a Senior Sourcing Specialist you will lead procurement activities for production materials required for locomotive assembly at LKZ. Your role will be critical in ensuring that materials are sourced efficiently and delivered on time, in alignment with production schedules and technical specifications. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to monitor inventory levels, resolve supply chain disruptions, and maintain accurate procurement records. Your contributions will directly impact production continuity and cost optimization.
What do we want to know about you?
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field from an accredited university.
Minimum 1 year of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Materials Planning, or related roles.
Fluent in English (writing, reading, speaking, listening).
Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
Legal authorization to work in Kazakhstan is required.
Preferable experience in heavy equipment or locomotive manufacturing industry.
Experience working with Oracle ERP or similar procurement systems.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
What will your typical day look like?
Lead procurement activities for production materials at LKZ.
Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement aligned with locomotive assembly schedules.
Collaborate with suppliers to confirm order accuracy, delivery timelines, and compliance with specifications and policies.
Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support uninterrupted production.
Coordinate with internal teams to align procurement with operational needs.
Track and report procurement KPIs including cost savings, delivery performance, and supplier quality.
Support resolution of supply chain disruptions and escalate issues as needed.
Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in ERP systems.
Assist in supplier evaluation, onboarding, and performance reviews.
