Laboratory Coordinator performs the following duties and responsibilities:
1) assists the Dean, the Head, General Manager (for laboratory activities), and Senior Laboratory Coordinator of the School in organizing the work and distributing the workload of the laboratory assistants;
2) provides the necessary working conditions for equipment and laboratories, monitors the condition of laboratories and equipment;
3) monitors inventory and updates the lists of available materials in laboratories on a regular basis;
4) analyses needs in laboratory equipment, materials, and reagents based on available cost data;
5) consolidates the information about the necessary safety equipment in the laboratories of the School in the framework of the supervised direction, together with the Health and Safety Department;
6) conducts training sessions on the use of equipment for persons assigned to work in the laboratory;
7) ensures and controls access to the laboratory of persons assigned to work in the laboratory within the framework of his/her official duties and powers together with the concerned structural divisions of the University;
8) monitors compliance with health and safety rules in laboratories in accordance with the internal documents of the University;
9) checks and assists the Laboratory Assistants in developing standard operating procedures (SOP) for equipment and health and safety instructions for potentially hazardous work;
10) ensures the availability of SOP, health and safety instructions for potentially hazardous types of work, and other safety-related documents in the laboratories of the supervised direction;
11) prepares budget requests for the corresponding reporting period within the supervised direction;
12) timely writes-off of consumables in accordance with the operational budget plan;
13) arranges a procurement plan for laboratories (goods, works, and services);
14) verifies technical specifications for the procurement in accordance with the manual or other documents confirming the technical characteristics;
15) participates in acceptance, verification, and testing of the purchased equipment and consumables for the laboratory as a member of the acceptance committee;
16) participates in the development of technical specifications and preparation of documents for concluding contracts and supplementary agreements;
17) provides reports, information, and data at the request of the structural divisions and organizations of the University, in agreement with the School's management, within the competence;
18) ensures the safety of documents within the supervised direction;
19) maintains correspondence within the scope of his/her functional responsibilities;
20) participates in the identification, evaluation, management, and monitoring of risks within the framework of supervised direction;
21) temporarily performs the duties (replaces) of the other Laboratory Coordinator or Senior Laboratory Coordinator during his/her temporary absence (up to one month);
22) timely and properly executes the tasks of the line manager and the University`s management;
23) observes the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Employer`s internal documents;
24) is responsible for exercising the labor and performance discipline;
25) is responsible for ensuring the integrity of official documents, and prevention of the disclosure or leakage of confidential and business information, as well as information of restricted access by the legislation, Charter, and internal documents of the Employer;
26) in case of dismissal, is responsible for the timely transfer of all paper documentation, digital information, and inventory to another employee as instructed by the line manager (to be certified by the act of acceptance-transfer).
Education
Higher-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with the English language of instruction

Work experience
Three years minimum. Minimum one year with a master`s degree in the relevant area
Knowledge
- Knowledge of planning and procurement processes for laboratory equipment and consumables;
- knowledge of safety rules in working with laboratory equipment;
- experienced user of MS Office programs;
- Fluent in Kazakh, English, and Russian
