Job Overview

Unicase is looking for a Tax Auditor to join our team in Almaty.

This role focuses on tax due diligence and tax audit work as part of M&A transactions and investment projects. You will work closely with legal teams on integrated due diligence engagements, identifying tax risks and contributing to transaction analysis.

The position is ideal for a professional with experience in audit or tax advisory who is looking to work on complex, project-based assignments in a dynamic, transaction-driven environment.

• Conduct tax due diligence (Tax DD) as part of M&A transactions and investment projects
• Identify and assess tax risks across key tax areas (CIT, VAT, WHT, transfer pricing, payroll taxes, subsoil use taxes, etc.)
• Review tax filings and compliance (including Forms 100.00, 300.00, 200.00, 590.00, 510.00, etc.)
• Participate in integrated due diligence projects alongside legal teams
• Prepare tax due diligence reports, including risk matrices, executive summaries, and practical recommendations
• Identify potential tax exposures and areas of risk
• Support transaction structuring from a tax perspective

• 3–5 years of experience in audit and/or tax advisory within consulting or professional services firms
• Strong practical experience in taxation and/or audit
• Solid understanding of due diligence processes

• Strong knowledge of Kazakhstan tax legislation

• Ability to work with accounting and tax documentation
• Understanding of financial statements

• Upper-Intermediate level of English or higher would be an advantage

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure and present information clearly

• Experience in Big4 firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG)
• Proven experience in M&A and tax due diligence projects
• Experience in transfer pricing advisory
• Professional certifications (ACCA, DipIFR) or progress towards obtaining them
