Role Purpose
The Global Edge Manager (Student Experience) plays a vital role in shaping a transformative student journey at DMUK. This role champions student voice, leadership, community, and belonging through a dynamic portfolio of student-led experiences and global engagement. The post-holder will lead key student initiatives including student union development, student ambassadors, mobility, student events, and the transfer-out process, ensuring all students have access to enriching, inclusive, and life-changing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Student Life & Engagement
- Develop and deliver a vibrant student experience programme across all year levels.
- Support the growth and development of student clubs, interest groups, and peer-led initiatives.
- Oversee the DMUK Student Ambassador Programme, ensuring ambassadors are trained and meaningfully engaged in recruitment, events, and student support.
- Act as lead liaison for the DMUK Student Union, supporting its governance, elections, events, and integration into university life.
- Organise student signature events across the academic calendar, including Welcome Week, Cultural Days, Social Innovation projects, and the Student Awards.
Social Mobility & Global Engagement
- Design and promote inclusive opportunities that support upward student mobility—locally and internationally.
- Coordinate DMUK’s participation in global citizenship and social action programmes (e.g., CONNEXX, DMU Global, youth exchanges, volunteering).
- Proactively identify and support students from underrepresented backgrounds to take part in mobility and enrichment activities.
- Track participation, measuring impact, and report on student development outcomes from mobility and engagement initiatives.
Student Transfers & Support
- Serve as the institutional point of contact for students requesting transfer to other DMU campuses (e.g., DMU Leicester or DMU Cambodia) or to external universities.
- Coordinate the transfer-out process in alignment with academic and administrative protocols, ensuring a smooth and supportive student experience.
- Provide guidance and one-on-one support to students exploring external opportunities, including documentation and reference coordination.
Student Voice & Inclusion
- Facilitate ongoing student consultation via surveys, focus groups, ambassador panels, and regular forums.
- Support equity, diversity and inclusion in all engagement activities, ensuring broad participation across nationality, gender, and socio-economic background.
- Represent the student voice in institutional policy, student development planning, and quality assurance processes.

Key Competencies
Governance & Accountability
• The Global Edge Manager (Student Experience) will report directly to the Director of Student Development.
• The post-holder will be subject to regular performance appraisals in accordance with DMUK’s HR policies and procedures.
• A formal probation period of 3 months will apply, during which performance and alignment with institutional values will be reviewed.
• The role includes line management responsibilities for student interns, part-time student staff, and volunteers engaged in student engagement activities.
- • The post-holder is expected to contribute to departmental planning, attend regular team meetings, and submit termly progress reports to the Director of Student Development.
