Role Summary

The Student and Staff Counsellor is a key figure in the well-being ecosystem of DMUK, providing confidential counselling and support services for students and staff. Operating within DMUK’s approved Counselling Policy and aligned with international best practices, the role fosters emotional resilience, early intervention, and a healthy campus climate.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group counselling sessions.

• Conduct screenings, risk assessments, and crisis interventions.

• Manage referrals to internal/external services.

• Adhere to confidentiality, legal compliance (Kazakhstan & UK), and ethical standards.

• Provide up to 6 sessions per semester for each student.

• Design and lead wellbeing workshops and peer support activities.

• Maintain secure records and contribute to data reporting.

• Engage in annual CPD and professional supervision.

• Train DMUK staff on mental health awareness and student referral procedures.

• Contribute to student transition, retention, and wellbeing strategies.

Requirements:

You must have bachelor's and/or master's degree in psychology

Post graduate qualifications related student support (desirable)

Sufficient experience in working with adults and students.

Minimum B1 level of English language
