About the position
The Legal Manager will play a key role in ensuring managing contractual matters and providing legal support across the organization. While experience in compliance is welcome, it is not mandatory for this position.

Key responsibilities

• Contract management – review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including client agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements. Provide legal guidance on contract terms, rights, and obligations. Maintain contract templates and databases to streamline the contract management process
• Regulatory affairs – stay informed about relevant regulatory developments and changes in the investment industry. Assist in preparing regulatory filings, reports, and disclosures. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
• Legal advice and support – provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate governance, intellectual property, data protection, and employment law. Assist in resolving legal disputes, including coordinating with external legal counsel when necessary. Conduct legal research and analysis to support business decisions and initiatives
• Collaboration and training – collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide legal insights and support for various projects and initiatives. Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on legal and compliance matters

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law or related field; additional qualifications such as an LL.M. or equivalent are preferred.
• Proven experience as a Legal Manager or similar role, preferably within the investment or financial services industry. Preferably ex-Big Four.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to the investment industry.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Experience of working with English law governed documents.
• High ethical standards and a results-driven attitude.
• Intellectual curiosity and a passion for continuous learning.
