Lawyer

Job Qualifications:

• Law degree and qualification from a law school of recognized standing. LLM from an international law school or other advanced law degree is preferred.
• Post-qualification legal experience at least 3 years, aviation industry experience preferred; excellent knowledge of customs (EAEU customs legislation, logistics, Incoterms), tax, insurance legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Kazakh (proficient knowledge desired), Russian (proficient knowledge required), English (proficient knowledge required).
• Solid knowledge of Kazakhstan’s laws and regulations and basic principles of law of other countries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly motivated self-starter capable of working in a team environment and partnering with clients, other in-house counsel, outside counsel and staff.
• Ability to effectively manage a high volume of complex and diverse tasks.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Paragraph Information System (and similar databases), Sudebny Kabinet Supreme Court Portal.
• Attorney is expected to provide support and advise on a wide range of issues so ability to quickly adapt and lead various issues simultaneously to successful resolution is required.

Job Functions:

• Defend the Company's interests as well as take diverse measures aimed at effective legal support to ensure Company’s uninterrupted operations in compliance with applicable laws.
• Represent Company in governmental regulatory agencies, ROK ministries and agencies on company’s issues; support Company departments in their negotiations with the governmental bodies and companies.
• Development of incorporation documents; registration of legal entities, amending the incorporation documents; determination of the legal framework for the Company's bodies.
• Workflow management to provide the Company with regulatory legal documents necessary for the implementation of the Company's activities; on accounting and maintaining bases of normative legal acts.
• Corporate restructurings (JSC, LLP, etc.), changing the structure of ownership, capital and corporate control; reorganization and re-registration of legal entities.
• Provision of the Company's subdivision, specialists with regulatory legal acts necessary for the implementation of their functions and duties.
• Verification of compliance with the legislation of draft orders, instructions, regulations and other documents of a legal nature submitted for signature to the head of the Company; verification of compliance with the stages of approval of draft documents with responsible employees; approval of draft documents; issuance of instructions to responsible employees of the Company on the introduction of amendments or cancellation of acts due to changes in legislation.
• Contractual work in the Company: determining the form of contractual relations; development of draft contracts; verification of compliance with the legislation of draft contracts submitted to the Company by counterparties; taking measures to resolve disagreements on draft contracts; ensuring notarization or state registration of certain types of contracts.
• Analysis of contractual work in the Company, development of a program for contractual work revision and change, verification of the status of contractual work in the structural divisions of the Company.
• Claim settlement: accounting of claims received from counterparties, examination of a claim; preparation of responses to received claims and adoption of decisions on satisfaction or refusal to satisfy received claims; preparation of claims against counterparties, sending claims to counterparties and monitoring the satisfaction of claims submitted to counterparties.
• Litigation: taking measures to comply with the pre-trial procedure for the settlement of contractual disputes; preparation of statements of claim and materials and their transfer to arbitration courts; study of copies of statements of claim on claims against the Company; ensuring the maintenance of a claim database; representing the interests of the Company in courts.
• Preparation of applications and other documents for obtaining licenses, permits necessary for the Company's activities.
• Taking part in the development of documents related to the ensuring the safety of the Company's property (contracts on liability; instructions establishing the procedure for the receipt and acceptance of material assets in the Company, material assets flow management).
• Preparation and submission of complaints against the actions of officials of state supervisory authorities, against unlawfully imposed administrative penalties on the Company.
• Consult Company departments on relevant legal issues associated with the Company's business, including completing legal reviews and memoranda.
• Consult employees of the Company on various legal issues, providing legal assistance in drafting legal documents. Providing qualified advice and assistance to the departments of the Company on issues related to the regulation of labor and industrial relations.

Conditions:

• Location: Almaty office (Nazarbayeva-Makatayeva)
• 5 days of work and 2 days off (Saturday and Sunday)
• Schedule from 8.30 - 17.30
• Probation period 3 months
• Vacation: 24 calendar days
