The UNICEF Kazakhstan CO works in partnership with the Government, civil society, private sector, and development partners to advance the realization of child rights and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals for all children in Kazakhstan. The 2026–2030 Country Programme focuses on strengthening systems and policies to ensure equitable access to quality health, education, protection, and social services, particularly for the most vulnerable children.
Within this framework, the Communication, Advocacy, and Partnerships Section plays a central role in enhancing UNICEF’s visibility, strengthening public and private partnerships, and mobilizing support for child rights. The section leads efforts in advocacy, digital engagement, media relations, and youth participation to influence policies, shift social norms, and generate resources for programmes.
The Communication Associate (G-6) provides technical and administrative support to the implementation of the office’s communication and advocacy strategy. The position contributes to maintaining UNICEF’s strong digital presence, producing communication materials, supporting events and campaigns, and ensuring consistent visibility of UNICEF’s work and impact in Kazakhstan.

Under the close supervision of the Communication Specialist, the Communication Associate will assist in planning, designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating communication initiatives to support the advocacy and communication strategy of the Country Office including in management of social and digital media platforms.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Government employees who are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government positions before taking up an assignment with UNICEF.
