The Role?
- Responsible for financial performance for country, entity level, ownership of geography P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, employment law provisions, and industry-specific requirements.
- Manage compliance and reporting requirements for joint venture partnerships and consortia.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for government inspections, audits, and legal requirements
- Provide finance expert support for system changes or improvement initiatives led by EBS group. Identify improvement and automation opportunities, drive changes and adoption of new solutions.
- Reviewing processes on a continuous basis to ensure best practices, standardized and streamlined processes are in place. Provide guidance and support in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Company's policies and procedures. Support continuous improvement and work with SSC R2R to drive process efficiencies.
- Maintain comprehensive project P&L statements, conducting in-depth analysis with Project Managers to address discrepancies and optimize performance
- Lead project reviews, tracking GP performance, managing action items through SSC ticketing, and escalating significant variances
- Manage end-to-end project financial lifecycle from setup through revenue closeout, maintaining audit-ready documentation.
Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
- Support annual budgeting, planning, and forecasting, responsible for financial analysis and evaluation for country.
- Monitor, analyse, and share financial performance reporting including KPIs, variance analysis and commentary. Review reports prepared by SSC R2R and support queries resolution. Review and share with geography leadership and budget holders the Country, Business Line and Functional reports. Consolidate results, gather commentary and insights from operations.
- Oversee journal processing, Business Line profitability reporting, and serve as SME for reporting automation from Jet to Power BI
- Act as a point of escalation and contact for vendor queries, vendor reconciliations and signing off balances where needed.
- Review the Balance Sheet reconciliation prepared by SSC R2R, sign-off reconciliations in line with agreed sign off processes.
- Coordinate with Central finance functions and provide support for Working capital management, Cash flow forecasting and Tax reporting. Oversee Cash management, forecast tax liabilities and support Capex analysis and reviews as required.
- Support the various statutory audit requirements for the Country
- Manage billing validation, collections targeting, and aged debt with SSC O2C; support dispute resolution and settlement negotiation
- Monitor PO spend, validate billing inputs, and ensure project risks/opportunities are properly disclosed in reviews
- Define project finance scope and SLAs with SSC, drive GP improvement initiatives, and coordinate audit compliance
- Business Partner with Group Tax to ensure Tax compliance
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for government inspections, audits, and legal requirements
- Work effectively with operations, commercial, HR, and legal teams to achieve Country objectives
- Reviewing processes on a continuous basis to ensure best practices; standardized and streamlined processes are in place. Provide guidance and support in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Company's policies and procedures. Support continuous improvement and work with SSC R2R to driving process efficiency.
- Raise risks and issues in service delivery to the SSC Leads.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant through one of the internationally recognised Institutes (ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CIMA) or qualified by experience
- 5 plus years of experience in financial management, preferably in a regional or multi-location role (Middle East & Caspian preference).
- Industrial Services background with Project Accounting
- Strong knowledge of local and international financial reporting standards and regulations.
Technical Discipline Expertise
- AMEC working capital management for cash conversion cycle
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
People & Communication
- Business partnering with the Tax team.
- Oversight of Project Controllers for AMEC region
- Ability to explain financial metrics in everyday terms
- Effective leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
