Our client, an international engineering and construction company, is seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer to support an industrial project in Almaty.
This is a project-based, temporary position with an expected duration of 12 months.
The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating potential General Contractors, MEI contractors, and Package Unit vendors, managing the entire tendering process — from RFP/ITB preparation to contract award — while ensuring full compliance with corporate and project procurement procedures.
This role requires a strong technical background in industrial construction, excellent coordination and communication skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple procurement packages simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Source and evaluate potential General Contractors, MEI contractors, and Package Unit suppliers.
Prepare RFQ/ITB packages and all relevant tender documentation.
Review quantity take-offs and cross-check tender quantities.
Analyze, evaluate, and negotiate offers with subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare tender evaluation reports and contracts for approval.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and procurement documentation.
Coordinate closely with QS, engineering, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with company procurement standards, processes, and reporting requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in procurement within the industrial construction or engineering sector.
Proven experience in managing procurement activities for large-scale industrial projects.
Strong understanding of all project lifecycle phases — from design and procurement to construction.
Track record of successful collaboration with General Contractors and MEI package suppliers in international or multinational environments.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.

High level of integrity, professionalism, and compliance awareness.
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Fluency in English and Russian (both written and spoken).
