English Language Teacher
Position Description
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part Time (5 hours per week), 9-month contract
LOCATION: Positions available in Almaty, Astana, Aktau, Atyrau, Pavlodar, Taraz
SUMMARY:
The C5 + ONE (Opening Networks through English) Program is seeking a skilled and motivated English Language Teacher to support a regional initiative that empowers young professionals across Central Asia through English language instruction and entrepreneurial thinking. The successful candidate will teach General English (from elementary to advanced levels) and deliver Entrepreneurship-focused ESP lessons, designed to foster skills in economic development.
Students will complete a series of trimester-based projects, culminating in:
Trimester 1: Marketing Research Survey
Trimester 2: Business Plan
Trimester 3: Business Pitch
All materials are provided, and the teacher will be supported by a Lead Teacher based in Almaty, who will offer ongoing training, guidance, and mentoring throughout the course.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, student-centered English language lessons that combine General English and ESP for Entrepreneurship.
- Use interactive, communicative methodologies (e.g., group work, role plays, presentations) to promote meaningful learning.
- Guide students through their trimester projects by incorporating language and soft skills needed for business success.
- Implement formative assessments to inform instruction and support student progress.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports learner confidence and growth.
- Participate in regular communication with the Lead Teacher, providing timely reports on student attendance and performance using program tools.
- Stay updated on modern teaching approaches and integrate educational technology and project-based learning into classroom practice.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, and certification as an English Language Teacher.
- At least 3 years of experience teaching English to adults, ideally in programs integrating English with professional or vocational development.
- Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
- Ability to motivate learners and adapt to diverse learning needs.
- Familiarity with project-based learning, entrepreneurship education, and student-centered teaching methods.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training, professional development, and collaborative planning.
