Key Responsibilities:

We’re looking for an experienced Chief Accountant, who can manage accounting in a multi-client environment - ranging from startups to established businesses. The ideal candidate delivers financial and statutory excellence across diverse industries.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on accounting and tax matters, providing recommendations tailored to their business models and industry specifics

• Lead the onboarding of new clients, including assessing accounting needs, configuring systems, migrating data, and ensuring a smooth transition

• Manage full-cycle financial and statutory accounting for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Develop and maintain accounting and tax policies, internal controls, and process documentation

• Provide accounting treatment and professional judgements in line with IFRS and relevant industry considerations

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with international standards (IFRS)

• Oversee the submission of tax, statutory, and statistical reporting in line with Kazakhstan legislation and international standards

• Represent clients in interactions with tax authorities and other external stakeholders

• Manage client settlements with suppliers and customers, ensuring accurate reconciliations and visibility over cash flows

• Prepare and deliver regular financial reports and insights to client leadership, highlighting key trends, risks and opportunities

• Support clients during external audits, including preparation of documentation and explanation of accounting positions

• Supervise and support junior accountants and client-side finance teams; provide trainings to ensure process alignment and skills development

• Operate across multiple accounting systems, with a strong emphasis on 1C

• Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and long-term partnership, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned clients

• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, development of standard operating procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Higher education in accounting, finance, or economics

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in accounting and finance, including at least 5 years in a Chief Accountant or similar leadership role

• Proven cross-industry experience - particularly in agriculture, manufacturing, and retail

• Prior work in consulting or outsourced accounting services is a strong advantage

• Deep knowledge of Kazakhstan tax legislation and IFRS

• Fully qualified ACCA, CPA, or equivalent certification

• Proficient in 1C; working knowledge of global ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus
