BlueThrone acquires and scales profitable mobile apps.
We don’t build from zero. We buy apps with strong potential and turn them into category leaders through better product decisions, smarter monetisation, and disciplined user acquisition.
Today, our portfolio generates tens of millions of downloads and serves millions of monthly active users across multiple verticals. We’re profitable, independent, and growing through disciplined bets - not hype.
We are a lean team of A-players where execution matters more than fancy titles. We operate without layers or slow approvals, and we care about one thing: building things that move the needle.
As our BI Engineer, you’ll be the bridge between raw data and high-stakes decisions. You won't just be "building dashboards"; you’ll be defining how we measure the entire business. You will work closely with our CEO, CTO, and growth leads to turn fuzzy business questions into clear models and reliable metrics. When leadership asks, "Is this cohort actually profitable?" or "Why did Week-2 retention drop?" you make sure the answer comes from clean modeling, not "gut feel."
Stakeholder Partnership: Sit with product and finance leads to translate ambiguous questions into precise analytical requirements.
Data Modeling: Design and maintain our dbt project on BigQuery - building dimensional models and macros that stay clean as we scale.
Dashboards & Self-Serve: Build intuitive Metabase dashboards that give teams the confidence to make decisions without needing to ping you for every query.
Deep Dives: Go beyond the pipeline. Dig into the numbers, investigate anomalies, and surface insights that we didn't even know to ask for.
Mobile Metrics Expertise: Become the go-to for core mobile KPIs (DAU/MAU, LTV, ROAS) and ensure the logic behind them is rock solid.
Process Improvement: Identify gaps in our data stack and propose practical, AI-first solutions to move 10x faster.
Senior data/analytics role with heavy SQL and modeling work.
SQL Fluency - you understand partitioning, clustering, and how to write cost-effective queries in BigQuery.
2+ years of production experience building dimensional models and incremental loads.
You have "Product Mindset" - you ask "What problem are we solving?" before you start writing code.
You can explain complex data trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders without losing them in the weeds.
Experience with mobile apps or high-volume event-driven data.
Familiarity with Metabase (or a willingness to pick it up in week one - it's straightforward).
Familiarity with mobile attribution platforms (Adjust, AppsFlyer, or similar).
Willingness to experiment with LLM for data work automation
You prefer freedom and results over fixed schedules and "punching the clock."
You are naturally curious and enjoy wearing multiple hats.
You thrive in a drama-free, calm, and systematic problem-solving environment.
You love challenges and are always ready to roll up your sleeves.
You want to work with senior people who care about results, not titles.
Above all, you follow your passion and have fun while doing it.
To truly represent our vibrant and diverse BlueThrone community, we prioritize diversity and inclusion. We are committed to fostering an environment where everyone can do their best work. We strongly encourage applicants of all backgrounds. We consider all candidates regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran status, neurodiversity, or disability.
