Job Description coordination of operational and conceptual issues in the supervised area "on developing extracurricular activities and student sports"; coordination and improvement of the system of qualitative increase in the number of students involved in extracurricular student activities, including student sports, which is an addition to their professional and personal development, contributes to their formation as a holistic person; developing students' sense of belonging to the University community, contributing to the creation of a friendly, respectful, inclusive environment at the University, etc., favorable for the holistic development of students within the supervised area of activity in cooperation with other General Managers of the Department, as well as structural divisions and schools of the University; improvement of the system of student self-government bodies and student organizations, including sports; ensuring the development of University student sports at a high level as a strategically priority area of development and an integral part of the development of future leaders; formation and development of the University's student sports brand, its popularization and attractiveness; development of a sponsorship system for student extracurricular activities, including University student sports; coordination and development of financing of student extracurricular activities, including student sports; development of cooperation with national leagues and the sports elite of Kazakhstan, including the Paralympic; development and coordination of a system for attracting and supporting talented sports youth, including Paralympians; strengthening the principle of inclusivity and promoting the development of high-level Paralympic sports, creating a supportive environment for Paralympians; improving the system of student organizations, including sports, university-wide national teams; approval of the composition of the University's student national teams; ensuring effective and careful use of university infrastructure by students, including sports; participation in the development of a Sports complex within the framework of student activities in order to strengthen a healthy lifestyle as one of the key values of a holistic personality; development of cooperation with the Health and Well-being Department, as well as the School of Medicine of the University and the USM PE in order to promote a healthy lifestyle as the most important value in the University community and ensure the formation of a well-being environment for students; development of proposals to establish and strengthen the interaction of University students with students of other higher educational institutions and youth organizations at the city, regional, national and international levels on extracurricular student activities, including student sports; establishment and development of cooperation with other universities and youth organizations and with representatives of local authorities responsible for the development of extracurricular student activities, including student sports; study and analysis of the experience of foreign higher educational institutions in organizing students' lives, making proposals for the implementation of best practices in extracurricular student activities, including student sports; preparation of proposals to the Head of the Department for Strategic Development of the Department for extracurricular student activities, including student sports; assistance to the Head of the Department in all aspects of the management of the Department and its activities; preparation of proposals to the Head of the Department for improving business processes in working with students based on the work carried out in the supervised area of activity; assists in making the necessary changes to the Position of the Unit, job descriptions of employees, internal regulatory legal documents within the scope of the Unit's activities ensuring the development of the effectiveness of the operational business processes of the Division, including through the introduction of automation, new management solutions within the supervised area of activity in cooperation with other General Managers of the Division; promotion of the values of the University, the attributes of the graduate, the values of a comprehensively developed holistic personality within the framework of the supervised area of activity in cooperation with other General Managers of the Department, as well as structural divisions and schools of the University; preparation and consideration of draft reports, presentations and information submitted for consideration by the Director of the Department; coordination of decisions taken in the structural divisions of the University on issues within their competence and elimination of identified deficiencies; participation in consultations with government agencies, other organizations, structural divisions of the University within its competence; participates in the processes of identification, assessment, management, and monitoring of risks within the supervised area; participation in the development, as well as in the subsequent monitoring of the execution of contracts and additional agreements initiated by the Division; carrying out work on establishing cooperation with local and foreign organizations and higher educational institutions within the competence of the Unit; timely and high-quality execution of other instructions from the Head and management of the University within the framework of their official duties and powers; complies with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and internal documents of the University; responsible for compliance with labor and service discipline; is responsible for ensuring the integrity of official documents, as well as preventing the disclosure or leakage of confidential and business information, as well as restricted access information in accordance with the legislation, the Charter and internal documents of the Employer; in case of dismissal, he/she is responsible for the timely transfer of all paper documentation, digital information, and inventory to another employee at the direction of the immediate supervisor (according to the acceptance certificate). Qualifications Education: Higher professional education, preferably in higher educational institutions with English language of instruction and medium of assessment. A Master's degree is required (preferably in business administration, public administration, human resource management). Work experience: At least seven years, two of them as a department head or senior administrative employee. Work experience in higher educational institutions, departments for working with students, in the management of educational organizations, in working with extracurricular activities of young people is preferable Knowledge: - Knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of education, sports and culture; - knowledge of sports regulations, national leagues and; - knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint programs; - fluency in English, Kazakh, Russian languages Skills: - managerial skills (goal setting and planning, assignment of responsibilities, control and motivation of subordinates' work); - the ability to make decisions; - Change and project management skills; - skills in preparing and conducting presentations; - analytical skills; - effective negotiation skills - effective planning skills - coaching and mentoring skills Other requirements: - commitment to the goals and values of the University; - critical thinking; - building effective relationships; - communication skills; - teamwork and independent work; - responsibility; - stress resistance; - developed leadership qualities; - ability to work with representatives of different cultures and nationalities Additional Information Recruitment and selection process Recruitment and selection at Nazarbayev University include the following process: preliminary selection based on experience and qualifications, assessments (e.g. technical skills/capabilities, aptitude, personality, work samples, in-basket exercises, and informal interviews), and motivation.
