An International Retail company is looking for a Deputy Chief Accountant in Almaty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare quarterly, monthly and annual financial statements following group requirements and relevant laws.
• Oversee the entire closing process, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately.
• Verify all reconciliation files associated with account closures.
• Implement controls and reconciliations for both accounting and management accounts.
• Calculation of deferred tax.
• Analyze current processes for potential improvements and optimization.
• Handle invoice processing and customer settlement transactions.
• Conduct account reconciliations and oversee debt recovery efforts.
• Develop initiatives aimed at optimizing AR processes through automation or procedural improvements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Coordinate preparing transfer pricing documentation as per regulations.
• Calculate withholding tax for non-residents (101.04); validate residency certificates.
• Collaborate closely with the chief accountant to ensure overall departmental goals are met.
• Act as a deputy in the absence of the Chief Accountant.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance; Professional certifications preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role such as Chief Accountant, Deputy Chief Accountant, or similar position. Experience within an international FMCG company is considered a significant advantage.
• Excellent practical knowledge of all areas of accounting, IFRS, tax, civil, labor, customs and currency legislation of RK.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
• Experience with automation and robotics in accounting processes.
• Strong analytical capabilities coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
• Curiosity and a strong desire for continuous learning and improvement.
• High emotional intelligence with excellent interpersonal communication skills
