The Planning Engineer plays a key role in ensuring transparent, accurate, and data-driven visibility of project performance across Construction and Commissioning phases. The position is responsible for managing, consolidating, and communicating project performance reports, ensuring that schedule, progress, and risk information is fully aligned across internal departments, contractors, and client interfaces.

This role provides timely and strategic insights to project management and clients through effective use of daily, weekly, and monthly reports, dashboards, analytics, and performance indicators - directly supporting decision-making, accountability, and overall project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation, validation, and consolidation of all project performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc) covering cost, schedule, procurement, construction progress, and key milestones.
• Coordinate with discipline leads and contractors (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, HSE, QA/QC, Contracts, and Cost Control) to collect, verify, and interpret progress and forecast data.
• Develop and maintain project dashboards, KPIs, and progress measurement systems that reflect real-time project performance and compliance with EPC execution requirements.
• Analyze trends, variances, and performance indicators, identifying risks, deviations, and opportunities for corrective or preventive action.
• Ensure consistency, traceability, and accuracy of reporting in line with company and client standards.
• Support the Project Manager, Planning Manager and Project Controls Manager in preparing executive-level reports, performance summaries, and presentations for senior management and clients.
• Drive standardization of reporting templates, formats, and visualization tools to ensure clarity and comparability across projects.
• Provide analytical and digital support during internal and external project review meetings.
• Ensure timely submission of all daily, weekly, and monthly reports to clients, contractors, JV partners, and corporate stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior reporting staff (if assigned) to ensure accuracy and consistency in project data consolidation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, information systems, or another technical discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in reporting, planning, or project controls within international EPC projects (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Mining, or Infrastructure).
• Strong understanding of the Construction and Commissioning project lifecycle, progress measurement, and performance reporting methodologies.
• Advanced user of Oracle Primavera P6.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VBA/macros, and data visualization) for integrated progress and schedule analysis.
• Solid IT literacy - ability to manage large datasets, interface with databases, and apply automation tools for reporting efficiency.
• Proven analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate raw data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and presentation skills, capable of effective interaction with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management, with the ability to perform under pressure in dynamic project environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in multi-discipline international EPC projects and joint ventures.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and their application in performance reporting.
• Familiarity with client and partner reporting standards and contractual deliverable requirements.
• Strong analytical and digital mindset, capable of improving reporting systems through automation and visualization.
