About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Instrumentation and Control Manager – Project to lead all instrumentation and automation activities for the construction of a modern sugar factory. This role will be responsible for planning, design review, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced instrumentation and control systems. The successful candidate will ensure project execution is safe, on time, within budget, and aligned with global best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage project plans for instrumentation and control systems.
Review and approve instrumentation designs, control philosophies, schematics, and technical deliverables.
Oversee installation and commissioning of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
Coordinate with process, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Manage vendors and contractors, ensuring quality and timely delivery of equipment.
Supervise FAT, SAT, loop checks, calibration, and commissioning activities.
Lead and mentor a team of instrumentation engineers and technicians.
Ensure compliance with ISA, IEC, and other international standards.
Implement SOPs and preventive maintenance practices to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Provide regular reports and updates to senior management.
Qualifications
Education: Degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 10+ years in industrial construction projects (process industries preferred).
Preferred Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional).
Industry Exposure: Sugar, refinery, food process plants, oil & gas, chemical, or heavy industrial projects.
Skills & Competencies
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Strong expertise in DCS, PLC, SCADA configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Knowledge of flow/pressure/level instrumentation, control valves, and field instruments.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and instrumentation design tools (e.g., SmartPlant Instrumentation).
Familiarity with ISA, IEC standards, and safety protocols.
Strong vendor management and negotiation experience.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Safety-conscious with risk management awareness.
