The German-Kazakh University (DKU) is an international network university in Almaty. Based on a German-Kazakh intergovernmental agreement, it is a flagship project for academic relations between the two countries. The DKU receives long-term funding from the DAAD and the Federal Foreign Office.

A German university consortium supports the University. Together with its Kazakh partner universities, DKU is building platforms to combine education, research, and innovation for sustainable development in Central Asia. Almost 700 students study at the University.

About the role:

Embrace a new challenge by utilizing your intercultural expertise and management skills. You will report directly to the President and collaborate with the Office of the President team. Your primary function will be to serve as a key liaison between our international partner organizations, especially in Germany, and the University's faculties and administrative units.

• Coordinate and oversee joint international projects, programs, and activities of the University.
• Maintain effective communication and cooperation between all DKU faculties, units, and the external project and programmes partners.
• Gather all relevant information to clarify needs and analyze requests. Identify and recommend activities and interactions with external stakeholders.
• Initiate and support international public relations and science communications.
• Assist in the administration of Board meetings.

• University degree in a branch of humanities or social sciences. A master’s degree is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience with working in an intercultural environment and in project management.
• Skills in media and communications or international relations are an advantage.
• Fluent Communication in English and Kazakh or Russian as mother tongue

Conditions:

• Work schedule: 5/2, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
• Official employment in accordance with the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Annual paid leave of 30 calendar days.
