1. Job Purpose

The Chief Accountant is responsible for leading and managing all accounting activities across the KZ, CIS region, ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, effective internal controls, and timely financial reporting.

This role acts as the key accounting leader overseeing accounting operations, tax compliance, statutory reporting, financial closing, and accounting governance in a fast-paced, multi-entity business environment.

2. Key Responsibilities

Accounting Leadership & Governance

• Lead overall accounting operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Develop and maintain accounting procedures, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
• Manage and supervise accounting teams across payment, asset, general accounting, and tax functions.
• Ensure accounting operations support business scalability and operational efficiency.

Financial Reporting & Closing

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
• Review financial statements, reconciliations, and accounting schedules.
• Ensure timely and accurate statutory and management reporting.
• Monitor financial data integrity and compliance with reporting requirements.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee tax filing, tax reporting, and compliance with local regulations across CIS countries.
• Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
• Monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations and assess operational impacts.

Internal Control & Risk Management

• Strengthen accounting controls and approval processes.
• Ensure segregation of duties and compliance with company financial policies.
• Identify accounting and operational risks and implement mitigation actions.
• Lead process improvement and accounting automation initiatives.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with Finance, Treasury, Operations, Procurement, Legal, and external stakeholders.
• Support management decision-making through financial insights and accounting analysis.
• Act as the primary accounting contact for regional finance matters.

3. Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
• Chief Accountant certification or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
• Experience in multi-entity or regional operations is preferred.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Good communication skills in English are preferred.
