Responsibilities:
indentify pupil care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
conducts vaccination programs as per state rules (if need be)
reports communicable and infectious diseases immediately to school management.
ensure clinic at all times meet state requirements.
promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient to understand condition, medications, and self care skills, answering questions.
maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
protect pupil and staff by adhering to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures and controlled substance regulations.
document pupil care services by charting in patient and clinic records.
maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
conduct an assessment of the health needs of the school and develop a health development plan.
work in partnership with learners, parents and the school community to address identified needs.
provide immediate first aid to pupils injured at school.
informs the school management and contact parent/guardian if pupils require hospital treatment.
help and support parents to promote good parenting skills.
carrying out health assessment at school entry, e.g. height, weight, vision and hearing.
ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability, completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufactures instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, informs administration officer for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
maintains nursing supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
perform any other duty within the scope of these responsibilities and his/her personal competence as may be required from time to time.
Exercise control over the organization and preparation of properly balanced meals for pupils in the school’s canteen.
Monitor the sanitary and hygienic condition of the canteen, inventory, dishes, storage of food supplies, and the quality of food products.
Implement the principles of rational nutrition in accordance with the norms of physiological needs and the biological properties of food products, and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Ensure compliance with personal hygiene rules by kitchen staff, timely completion of preventive medical examinations, and providing first aid in case of accidents at school.
Qualifications: bachelor degree in nursing.
minimum experience: 2-5 years’ experience in a similar industry.
