Candidates should have previous experience and the skills in leading and coordinating the team of workers.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field (preferred).
- Relevant technical certification in construction or civil works is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in civil construction.
- At least 3 years of experience supervising earthworks activities.
- Experience in infrastructure, oil & gas, power plant, or industrial projects is preferred.
The Civil Supervisor – Earthworks is responsible for supervising and coordinating all site earthwork activities, including excavation, backfilling, grading, compaction, and soil stabilization. The role ensures work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily earthworks operations including excavation, trenching, filling, grading, and compaction.
- Ensure work is performed according to approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with site engineers, surveyors, HSE team, and subcontractors.
- Monitor productivity, manpower, equipment usage, and material consumption.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure quality control requirements are met.
- Identify and report potential risks, delays, or technical issues.
- Maintain daily reports on progress, workforce, and equipment.
- Support testing activities such as soil compaction tests and field density tests.
- Ensure proper site housekeeping and environmental compliance.
