We are seeking a dynamic Pedagogical Leader to serve as our MYP/DP Librarian. This is a central role in our Secondary School, focusing on empowering students to become independent researchers and ethical digital citizens. The successful candidate will lead the development of information literacy and academic honesty across the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning Support
Collaborate with subject teachers to design and deliver research-rich units within the IB framework.
Explicitly teach Information Literacy and Media Literacy skills.
Provide specialized mentorship for the Personal Project (MYP) and the Extended Essay (DP).
2. Academic Honesty & AI Leadership
Lead the implementation of the school’s Academic Honesty Policy in line with IB expectations.
Teach advanced citation, referencing, and strategies to avoid plagiarism.
Guide students and staff on the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), focusing on transparency, bias, and critical thinking.
3. IB Programme Standards & Evaluation
Ensure the library’s resources and pedagogy meet IB Standards and Practices for authorization and evaluation.
Facilitate the vertical and horizontal alignment of ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills, specifically research and thinking.
4. Library Management & Resource Development
Curate a diverse, inclusive collection of physical and digital resources.
Manage subscriptions to academic databases, journals, and digital tools.
Promote a vibrant reading culture through school-wide events and displays.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Library Science, Information Science, Education, or related field.
IB Experience: Proven experience working in an IB World School (MYP/DP preferred).
Research Expertise: Deep understanding of the Extended Essay and Personal Project requirements.
Skills & Competencies:
Language: Professional fluency in English (written and spoken).
Technical: Proficiency in library management systems and a strong grasp of AI tools in an educational context.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse faculty and student bodies.
