Functional Responsibilities
Providing bibliographic and reference services to library users;
Organizing cultural and educational events to promote reading;
Ensuring the proper functioning of the library reading rooms (compliance with the approved work schedule, sanitary standards, and arrangement of the library collection according to the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) system, etc.);
Managing fixed assets:
monitoring the issuance and timely return of books and other materials;
ensuring the safety of equipment (computers, scanners, projectors, RFID equipment, etc.) and furniture used by library users.
Job Responsibilities
Providing services to users and ensuring their access to the library collection;
Advising users when selecting documents from the open-access collection and while working at computerized workstations in reading rooms;
Ensuring user satisfaction with library and bibliographic information services;
Collaborating with student club groups interested in literature, poetry, and science;
Participating in cultural and educational activities with library users;
Arranging the library collection in reading rooms according to the classification system adopted by the library;
Ensuring that users comply with the library usage rules;
Exchanging professional experience with university library staff as well as with the university’s strategic partners;
Performing other duties as assigned by the library and university management;
Participating in the annual inventory of the library collection;
Performing the functions of a subject librarian;
Timely and properly fulfilling assignments from the library and university management within the scope of official duties and authority.
Requirements
Compliance with the corporate dress code;
Adherence to the established work schedule;
Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps, etc.);
Non-disclosure of confidential information;
Compliance with moral and ethical standards established by legislation and internal university regulations.
Working Conditions
Official employment in accordance with the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
Working schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30–17:30, lunch break 12:30–13:30 (once a month Saturday: 8:30–17:30);
