Introduction

Metso, a global leader in sustainable technologies, comprehensive solutions, and services for the minerals processing, aggregates, metal recycling, and waste management industries, is looking for a Logistics Specialist (Central Asia Region). You will be responsible for arranging timely, secure, and cost-effective shipping / transportation /forwarding of products and materials according to agreed guidelines.

Job is highly based on routines. Close supervision is provided when needed. You will work independently to complete given tasks, responding to standard enquires.

This position is located in Almaty / Karaganda.

What you’ll do:

Inbound and Outbound transportation:

• Arrange inbound/outbound transportation according to the operating model and terms & conditions (e.g., incoterms).
• Provide information and support for stakeholders about operational logistics and possibilities.
• Communications with customs agents and carriers in all foreign trade operations.
• Coordinate and monitor the activities of third parties involved, such as customs brokers and carriers, to avoid any type of risk to the company.

Import and export formalities:

• Ensure local import & export customs compliance is set up & run as per local regulations and Metso global/regional guidelines.
• Responsible for carrying out foreign trade operations in the company, ensuring compliance, in due time and form of the legal requirements dictated by the governmental authorities involved in this matter.
• To keep the electronic record of each Import/export and be sure that all the information declared to customs authorities is correct.
• Resolve matters pertaining to inbound & outbound shipments to ensure compliance with will appliable import and export laws.
• Ensure Logistics documentation is accurate and completed for transportation.
• Responsibility of obtaining missing/requested information or facilitating documentation corrections from the customs broker to support customs clearance.

Monitoring / follow-up / pro-active communication:

• Daily follow up to the outbound and inbound shipments and coordinate together with customs team broker release and after it follow the shipment until customer site.
• Daily follow up to outbound and inbound reports.

Responsibility of shipping and loading activities in accordance with the terms & conditions (e.g., incoterms).

Warehouse operational support and functions close to the warehouse.

Handling and managing inbound/outbound (goods receiving/issuing) and managing possible claims towards the shipper with alignment of other functions.

Customer claims handling and corrective & preventing actions implementation with internal and external stakeholders.

Coordination of the warranty and claim processes to ensure customer satisfaction and resolution.

We expect that you have:

• Bachelor degree
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in logistics (required)
• Experience in process optimization, operations, or business management
• Familiarity with IT tools and ERP/integrated system (1C and SAP)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Russian (fluent) and English (intermediate)
• Strong drive to meet targets and customer demands
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere
• Dynamic thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Capability to articulate and communicate topics within the area of expertise
• Highly motivated individuals with the ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
