KIMEP University School of Law invites applications for a faculty position of Associate Professor of Research.
Main Purpose of the Post:
To provide academic and research leadership. To undertake research and publish to the required levels appropriate to either academically qualified or professionally qualified status (50% of the expected overall contribution) To lead and manage the delivery of teaching and learning including oversight and management of related academic activities and academic administration (50% of the expected overall contribution).Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Undertake individual and team-based research and publish commensurate with the expectations of the position; Serve as Research Director of the Law School and stimulate and facilitate scholarship on the Law faculty in this role; Undertake teaching and related activities as may be allocated by the Dean as appropriate; Manage the Law Library and perform duties related to its functioning and administration as well as maintenance of legal databases and subscriptions of the Law School.Other Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and manage programmes and modules, ensuring full compliance with quality requirements; Lead, manage and contribute to curriculum development; Lead, manage and support the learning process by preparing learning materials and marking student scripts according to marking schemes provided and subject to appropriate monitoring procedures; Act as Coordinator of Adjunct Faculty responsible for formal and informal orientation and training of adjunct instructors; Provide mentoring and academic support for junior staff and students; Manage, supervise and invigilate examinations and other assessment duties as required by the Dean under advice from the Faculty; Undertake, lead and manage consultancy and/or knowledge transfer and/or continuing professional development; Participate in continuous professional development; Carry out related duties that may be allocated by the Dean as appropriate.Required Qualifications and Experience
Specific requirements of MES for accreditation and attestation purposes and defined by the Ministry of Labor as essential standards for employment: DS/PhD or CS and a minimum of 5 years of educational and scientific work at an educational institute in the area of specialisation and, for progression to a higher grade, at least one year in the preceding grade.
Additional KIMEP requirements: required publications and other requirements may be found in the KIMEP Faculty Code of Practice. Terminal degree in Law and MLIS or equivalent.
